BSA: Lola Martin

Lola Martin, a main character for Benny's Strange Adventures! As such, her design has remained quite consistent over the years, all things considered. She hasn't been massively overhauled like Bandit or Lavender, so redrawing an old piece of Lola is much easier since I'm already pretty confident in her design and didn't feel the need to change much. In fact, her latest design is virtually identical to how I drew her between 2019 and 2020, just with pink eyes like her OG design and greener horns. Plus I made her collar fur more voluminous so it overlaps part of her head, which I think gives it more dimension visually.
As a character, Lola is a reserved and rather lonely girl from the country of Tulgurezon. She's called a Chipuffle, which is a terrestrial/arboreal Monstah subspecies defined by their long, silky fur and bi-to-quad posture. She's really in to birdwatching, so on one fateful day she spots Benny & co. through her binoculars and starts to make a habit of watching their adventures from a distance, since she's not actually allowed to leave Tulgurezon and during her inception in the story, Benny & friends are making their way through the badlands surrounding Dream Valley (Tulgurezon is close, but they aren't part of the same territory). She doesn't really have any real friends, and longs to be part of Benny's team. Once they actually manage to get to Tulgurezon, Lola is one of the first Monstaz to welcome them! She is very optimistic and high-energy, though she can be quite naïve. She tags along with Benny's team through their trek through Tulgurezon, but is unable to join them through Hydrocambria (because she can't swim), Zazigi Depths (ditto), and Sargoru Desert (it's too hot there). She reunites with the team in Ourasozo, when they find out Honey is unable to carry on in the freezing climate. Lola proves to be a very helpful teammate, providing moral support and healing the other Monstaz' wounds with her effect, Puff Therapy!
The first drawing took 2 hours and 39 minutes, while the recolored version took an additional hour and 50 minutes, bringing the total up to 4 hours and 29 minutes.

Lola can switch between a quadrupedal and bipedal stance. That's called being bi-to-quad, right? I'm not sure, I think I read it somewhere before... Anyways, the 3rd pic is a younger design.

Alt colors! quad is based on her plush inspiration, bi is based on Nega-Lola, who I've posted before, young is based on her TCG illustration, which I've also posted before.

This is the image I was redrawing! It is from 2017 or early 2018. This Lola isn't much different, but she's more scruffy & has much different proportions.

A drawing of Lola's head from... late 2019 I believe? It's pretty good, I'm happy with almost every aspect of this except the uncolored eyes and neon horns (which almost look yellow... they should be green!)

mid 2019 drawing of Lola I made for a school project on character design. She's almost the same as she is now, though again she's rather scruffy & has unrefined markings & inconsistent ear/limb colors.

my earliest attempt at refining Lola, made on Scratch in 2016. She's TINY! I used this design as primary inspiration for young Lola's design.
