BSA Bandit & Cuddles design exploration

I've been experimenting with Krita lately, since it was one of the programs the computer repairman added to my new computer to compensate for the loss of CSP. Of course, I have CSP back now, but it's always good to try new things. Honestly, I don't like Krita as much because I find it rather confusing & difficult to navigate (plus I don't like how all the brushes are in one place) but it is cool how it has a bunch of unique brushes. In fact, for the fun of it, while coloring Bandit in I switched brushes every time I switched colors, hence the varying textures.
Anyways, some backstory on Bandit! He is a Patchpaw, which is like a living plush doll basically. His main occupation is being a guard in the country of Tulgurezon, a fitting job because any time he gets hurt, he can just ask to have his injuries re-stuffed and stitched back up again! He is very kindhearted, and always eager to help other Monstaz in need, but often overworks himself to exhaustion. A lot of Monstaz find him a little frightening because of his pointy fangs & claws and his third eye, but he tries not to let that get to him. The puffball on his right shoulder is named Cuddles, and she's been attached to him for as long as he can remember. She's kind of like a sentient mushroom creature, but made of cotton stuffing. Whenever Bandit grows, Cuddles grows a little as well. Though Bandit is very good-natured, Cuddles is a bit of a troublemaker...

Anyways, I hope you enjoy seeing the progression from old Bandit to new Bandit! I felt like it'd be good to redesign him so I can have a definitive reference for him in the future. I'm glad I checked my older designs all at once while designing new Bandit, else he might not have looked as good. After all, I nearly lost his unique fang design and the fur tufts on his back!
Benny's Strange Adventures and Bandit are my own creations.

my current design for Bandit. I may change small things like his coloration and spot placement. Drawing time: 1h 31m over 2 days.

My initial sketch for the redesign. I drew this using the 2017-2018 sketch as reference, quickly realizing it was inadequate.

2019 sketch, notably referenceless (hence the lack of fangs and mane). I don't know if I want to keep his effect, perhaps I'll tweak it... Anyways, I did like his curved horns, so I kept them.

2017-2018 era sketch. This is what I originally intended to redraw, but I ended up reworking Bandit entirely. As you probably guessed, it was also referenceless.

My original Bandit design from somewhere between 2015 and 2016. I made him on the programming site Scratch using their vector tools... much easier said than done.
